If you're a high-school student, you can get an early start on this in the fashion design program at the Design & Architecture Senior High School. Adults can learn fashion on a noncredit basis at ArtSouth School, which offers six-week courses in fashion design and jewelry. For credit coursework, Florida International University teaches courses in jewelry design, while Miami Dade College offers courses in textiles and fashion design, illustration, and photography. If you're looking for a degree, the North Miami campus of Johnson & Wales University awards associate degrees in fashion merchandising, while Miami International University of Art & Design grants associate degrees in fashion accessory design and both associate and bachelor degrees in fashion design and fashion merchandising. |
